Wound with heavily oxidized resistance wire on vitreous enameled steel tube. The winding is locked into place with ceramic cement. The tube is carried upon robust enameled die-cast end supports with heavy duty sliding contact consisting of multi leaf phosphor bronze strips, nickel plated for corrosion resistance.
