Actually, 1 MHz crystal oscillator is used to generate 1 MHz square wave. It is scaled down from 1MHz to 1Hz, using seven decade scaled down steps of 1 MHz, 100 KHz, 10KHz, 1KHz, 100Hz, 10Hz and finally 1Hz. Built in regulated power supply: +5V/300mA Input Supply: 230 VAC/50Hz mains operated.
